Imphal, June 20 2009: The Working Group of Meira Paibee Movement has launched its second poster campaign of the second phase today at Kangchup Twikun village in Sadar Hills in collaboration with the Ching-Tam Apunba Meira Paibee Lup.

Joined by various womenfolk of the hills and the valley, the participants of the campaign have displayed posters with slogans like 'Stop State Terrorism,' 'Respect Right to Life,' 'Stop Atrocities,' 'Stop Silent Killing,' 'Stop Killing without Trial,' 'Respect Women's Rights,' 'Repeal AFSPA, 1958,' etc.

A street corner meeting was also held as a part of the campaign.

Speaking on the occasion, convenor of the Working Group of Meira Paibee Movement, L Memchoubi said the poster campaign has been launched against the killings that have been happening daily in the state.

She said that to save the next generation is the bounden duty of the mothers.

She said that if not the present trend of chaos is allowed to continue unabated; the future of the society is destined to meet its doom.
