While announcing their collective decision of launching intense agitation against crimes and violence on women, three women organisations have given 10 day's time for taking up necessary action against all those who involved in killing women after violating their modesty.
Among many incidents of crime and violence against women that were reported this year, five women have been victims of such brutal killings.
In the beginning of the year, a mother and her daughter were found murdered after being raped in Phayeng area.
Their bodies were found abandoned in a nearly paddy field.
Few months after that first incident, a young woman was found murdered in similar manner in Khurai area.
Ironically, on November 25, which coincided with the inaugural campaign of Observation of International Day Protesting Violence Against Women, another woman, who worked as a cashier in DRDA Churachandpur was found murdered with tale tell signs violating her modesty.
Taking up the cause for such victims, Christian Network of Positive Women, Conflict Widow Forum and Women Action for Development have announced their decision of launching intense agitation against crimes and violence on women.
Giving 10 days time, they have also demanded identification and punishment of the killer rapists.
