Sticking to her words, which she announced during her recent visit to Manipur, Opposition leader in the Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj of the BJP, the issues confronting the State have been listed in the call attention motion in both the Houses.
Interestingly, the BJP leader, while addressing media persons in Manipur recently had assured, "Just watch the television and see our action" .
The Opposition leader then went on to say that the role of the Opposition is to highlight the failures and wrong doings of the Government as well as expose the pitiable conditions of the people.
The BJP leader along with the deputy leader of the Rajya Sabha SS Ahluwaliah, RS MP Chandan Mitra arrived here on a two day visit on July 8 to take stock of the humanitarian crisis here.
State unit president of the BJP, Sh Shantikumar, who is presently at New Delhi informed The Sangai Express that issues related to Manipur have been listed in the call attention motion in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha in the ongoing Monsoon session of the Parliament.
The State's issues have been included in serial number 4 among the 14 shortlisted call attention motion in the lower House while it has been slotted in serial number 2 in the upper House, said Shantikumar, referring to the information that he has received from Sushma Swaraj.
Meanwhile, around 200 BJP leaders led by its president Nitin Gadkari submitted 10 crores signatures against the price hike to the President Pratibha Patil today.
The signatures were collected from across the country.
