Imphal, December 26 2009: Police commandos of Bishnupur district in joint operation with Central security forces apprehended eight activists of KCP allegedly involved in hurling and attacking with bombs at the homes of individuals in separate counter insurgency operations during the last two days.

The eight cadres were nabbed during the operations launched jointly by the Bishnupur police commandos with 4/5 Gorkha Rifles and 33 Assam Rifles from the night of December 24 till this morning, according to SP, Bishnupur district, S Jayenta.

On Saturday night, a combined team of Bishnupur Police and 4/8 GR in an operation at Ningthou-khong Bazar arrested four hardcore activists of KCP(MC) Lamyanba Khuman Group.

They were identified as Joel LD Laino (22) son of Senpu of Nungsi Chiru, Luna Laishram alias Nanao (31) wife of Suman Laishram of Ningthoukhong ward no.4, Bindya Irengbam alias Abem (20) wife of NC Lalchandra of Ningthoukhong ward no.4 and Ahanthem Shakhi (50) wife of A Megha of Moirang Phiwangbam Leikai.

In another operation at Moirang area today at about 8.30 am a combined team of Bishnupur Police Commandos and 33 Assam Rifles another four activists of the same group.

They were identified as Pukhrambam Bobo alias Babu (40) son of late P Angou of Moirang Khunou Makha Leikai, Angom Naocha (21) son of A Bocha alias Ibomcha of Moirang Khoiru Makha Mayai Leikai, Konjengbam Monoranjan alias Poireton (22) son of K Basanta of Moirang Konjengbam Maning Leikai and Keisham Abem alias Ichan Thoibi (23) daughter of K Kumar of Khudekpi Makha Leikai.

From them two Chinese hand grenades were recovered from the possession of the fourth persons.

On verification, police came to know that they were working in the KCP (MC) Lamyanba Khuman group and directly involved in various crimes.

According to the statement of SP, they were involved in the hurling of hand grenade at the Saw Mill of Ngangom Basanta of Utlou Chanura Bazar on November 26 and 27 night, the house of one Tongbram Rajen of Utlou Makha Leikai on November 29 and 30 night, at the house of S Chandramani of Oinam Awang Leikai on December 2 and at the house of M Premjit of Moirang College on yesterday.
