The Zeliangrong Students� Union, Tamenglong District welcomed the decision of setting up of a non-residential (special category) English medium school at the district headquarter but urged the authority not to transfer teachers from other government schools of the district to the newly set up school.
A statement issued by the ZSU, Tamenglong district signed by coordinator, Matheusang Panmei today observed that presently government schools in the district are facing acute shortage of teachers.
Instead of making transfer of teachers from other schools of the district, ZSU wanted to appoint fresh teachers from qualified candidates called by conducting DPC.
Mention may be made that the construction works of the model school is in progress at the district headquarters with the target of commencing the session from the current academic session.
The statement further asked authorities of the electricity department to arrange for regular power supply in the district considering for the students appearing in the HSLC and HSSLC exams saying that irregular power supply has cause inconveniences to the students.
