Nagaland ex-minister hits out on Rio

Nagaland Congress stalwart and former finance minister K Therie said Neiphiu Rio's move to expand Naga People's Front (NPF) to the states of Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh is a folly.
K Therie, who is currently a member of AICC said raising of funds to fight elections in Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh will have negative impact in Nagaland.
"As is also rightly debated by NPF members, the funds raised for these elections will harm the developments in Nagaland state.
People will not forgive them.
We have too many hungry mouths to feed.
State itself is suffering from want of basic amenities such as free health services, civil supplies, trained teachers, road, water, power etc.
Helpless ICU bedridden patients are highly charged, cancer, kidney, heart patient are dying after selling all properties, leaving behind the bereaved family members hand to mouth.
Students are frustrated for lack of infrastructure to study their choices.
For now I leave it to NPF to decide," the Nagaland veteran politician said.
"We often see Muhammud Bin Tulugh qualities in the Chief Minister of Nagaland.
Historians often describe Muhammud as eccentric ruler for shifting capital from Delhi to Devagiri without preparation and for raising land tax beyond citizen means.
Some of which were the major reasons led to the downfall of his empire," K Therie stated.
He said 'folly decision' of Neiphiu Rio's of affiliation and shifting of over 4000 innocent students from Manipur to appear exam in Nagaland Board; damaging the future of many students, " reminds me of Muhammud".
The other folly decision is dragging NPF into Manipur and Arunachal state election.
The decisions are injurious to Naga brothers and sisters living in the neighboring states and will only lead to unrecoverable deprivation of opportunities in their respective states, Therie asserted.
The former Nagaland former cabinet minister said, "Even if the NPF candidates win election they are destined to seat in the opposition.
Even opposition parties may not like to associate them.
The Politicians, the Executives, the intellectuals and the communities will have different impression with the label of NPF.
It is virtually an act of self immolation.
Rio is luring with money-bagpiper to the steep fall.
From all consideration the decision has negative impact" .
"In my personal view; Nagas brothers and sisters in neighbouring state should participate in the national parties; where there is equal recognition, appreciation and shelter.
Minorities need protection and safeguards from secular parties.
We can protect the interest of our people and also bring developments by participating in the common pool of fund.
Delhi has no dearth of fund.
In democracy; fighting the rights, within the ruling, is right approach, rather than sitting in the opposition and teasing from outside," K Therie advises.
