Imphal, November 02 2010: "Mr India", a film on the life of HIV positive Khundrakpam Pradipkumar has been selected for screening at the 8th Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival 2010 as a part of the International Competition section.

The producer of the film, Haobam Paban Kumar has received intimation from the organizer of the festival informing the selection of the film for screening during the festival and asking him to send them a mini DV or a DVCam version of his film as soon as possible through courier.

They also informed that this year's festival only these two formats will be used.

"We will also need stills from your film and a brief synopsis (also one line synopsis) for the catalogue.

Please email them to us at [email protected] at your earliest convenience, if you have not already," it said.

A headshot as well as a short bio (of the director) would also be useful to them, especially if the produced plans on attending the festival.

They were overwhelmed by the number of good films they received this year, and the selection committee had to work extra-hard to reach their final decisions.

Selecting 50 out of 328 entries from all over the world was not an easy task.

Having only a month left for the festival, they requested pavan to expedient cooperation with them.

The festival takes place from 9-13 December 2010 in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Each screening will be followed by a short interaction with the audience.

Kathmandu International, they said adding that Mountain Film Festival 2010 promises to be a festive occasion, said festival director Ramyata Limbu in his intimation.

The same film has also been invited for screening at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, a top film festival of South Eastern Europe and the primary and oldest festival in the Balkans for the creations of emerging filmmakers from all over the world.

The Festival is part of the two-day event on the occasion of the World Aids Day and they would like to screen "Mr.India", which was also screened on the 2nd Health Film Festival of Kos.

They had alreas spoken with Lucia Rikaki, director of the Kos Film Festival and close collaborator of the Thessaloniki Film Festival about the screening of the festival.

The film will be screened on December 2 at the Olympion Theatre (main venue of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival).

They also sought to provide them with the film without paying any rights since the screening of the film will be with a free entrance and no tickets will be sold and all the events focus on helping spread awareness on the HIV virus, Events Management, Anna Th Milossi wrote to Paban.
