The High School Leaving Certificate Exam (HSLC Exam), 2010 to be appeared by a total of 31,102 students (old and new course) across the state will begin from tomorrow.
The exam conducting authority, Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM) is all set for smooth conduct of the exam.
The examinations for the new course to be conducted by BSEM will begins from tomorrow while that of old course to be conducted by the same board will begin from March 26 next.
Out of the total 31,102 students, 27,554 are to appear in the new course exam.
Among them 13,287 are girls while the rest 14,267 are boys.
The exam will be conducted at 85 centres across the state.
Out of the total centre 59 are private centre while the remaining 26 are board centres.
In the old course to be begun from March 26, a day after the new course exam concluded, a total of 3,548 students are expected to be appeared the exam.
Less number of students enrolled for appearing in this year HSLC exam compared to previous year 2009.A total of 400 students less enrolled this year from the previous year, officials of the board observed.
The main reason behind the reduction in students enrollment in the board exam has been cited as due to students preferred to appear in the exam conducted by the CBSE, according to the controller of the exam, K Birchandra who talk on Hueiyen Lanpao.
He further said that the board is all set for the conduct of the exam smoothly.
Flying squad team of board has been formed to check students using unfair means in the exam.
Each flying squad team has five members.
The team will give close vigilant at the exam centre at government schools particularly.
The board has also requested SPs of all districts to make adequate security arrangements at the exam centres for preventing any untoward incidents at the centres during the exams, he added.
