Japan Embassy-aided school inaugurated at Chandel village

"Japan opened the door to the world three decades ago.
We have no natural resource, but our Government and people make lots of investment in education," Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Japan, Yasuhisa Kawamura has said during the inaugural function of a primary school building at Anallon Christian Institute, Lambung in Chandel district today.
The construction of the new school building has been financed by Embassy of Japan in India.
On behalf of the Government and people of Japan, Yasuhisa Kawamura heartily congratulated the people of Chandel while speaking as Guest of Honour of the inaugural function of the newly constructed school building.
He further said that Japan makes huge investment in education for the purpose of educating their people to be able to meet international challenges and also understand the importance of humanity.
He expressed optimism that Anallon Christian Development Committee (ACDC) will be able to accommodate many more children who aspire to get quality education and give benefit not only to students themselves but also to community as a whole.
While appreciating all the members and workers of ACDC for working painstakingly to complete the project in time, the Deputy Chief of Mission expressed hope that the new school building will be able to impart instrumental and meaningful education to many children and help them to build up a bright future.
Chairman of Anallon Christian Development Committee L Wolring said that the contract grant for construction a primary school building at Anallon Christian Institute, Lambung was signed on March 26, 2012 at Embassy of Japan, New Delhi between Ambassador of Japan to India Akitaka Saiki and himself.
The construction of school building was started on June 4, 2012 and completed on April 30, 2013 by first class contractor Langhu Kantong Anal at a total cost of Rs.64,67,470. Wolring further said that with the completion of the school building, 300 tribal students of primary section belonging to low socio-economic condition would be accommodated.
The Chairman also thanked the people of Japan for extending financial assistance timely to make the project successful.
Further, dwelling on the objective of ACDC, Wolring said, "Enabling right pupils to receive the right education in the right way at the right time from the right teachers in the right place is specifically designed for the purpose of four-fold education for the harmonious development of mental, physical, social and spiritual power of the pupils".
He also expressed hope that the inauguration of a primary school building at Anallon Christian Institute, Lambung would bring closer bond of cooperation, partnership and friendship between the people of Japan and Manipur in future.
Development Consultant, Embassy of Japan Yoko Konishi, Ex-MP/MLA BD Behring, MLA of Chandel Constituency St Nunghlung Victor , President of Northeast India Union of SDA Churches Pr (DR) LF Lyngdoh, President of Manipur Conference of SDA Churches Pr B Zimik, Executive Secretary, Manipur Conference of SDA Churches Pr Graceson Kamei, Secretary of COHSEM Sarangajit Singh, Joint Secretary of COHSEM Ranabir Singh, and Principal for Japanese Languages Studies in Imphal Irungbam Mangan Singh were among the dignitaries who attended of the inaugural function of the newly constructed school building.
A host of officers of Chandel District Administration, leaders of civil society organizations, church leaders, students and parents attended the colourful function marked by songs, music and dances.
