Ukhrul/Imphal, September 29:
Ukhrul is set to be the next district in the State to have the Vision India Project under the flagship programme of the Asian Football Confederation to tap the talents of promising youngsters in football.
Initiated by the AFC two years, India was among seven countries chosen for the programme and in the first phase two States in India came under the Vision India Project-Delhi and Manipur.

In Manipur the project kicked off in four districts and now the next target is Ukhrul.
The Grassroot/Schools Football Development programme under the said project will be launched in Ukhrul from this year and a function was held today at the office of the Ukhrul District Sports Association to discuss the finer points.
Attended by officials of UDSA, secretary of All Manipur Football Association, Ranjit Roy and selected boys from 8 schools in Ukhrul, detailed discussions were held on the roles to be played by schools, local organising committees and others concerned to spot and tap talent.
Discussions were held on creating Local Organising Committee, the members of whom will comprise representatives from the office of the district's Deputy Commissioner, SP, District Youth Affairs and Sports.
Once the committee is formed, AMFA will hand over the responsibility of conducting the project to it.
There was positive response from representatives of schools and UDSA officials.
After the meeting and discussion, the training camp of school students held since September 11 at the Tangkhul Naga Long Ground concluded today.
Certificates were distributed to the participants.
Vice president of AMFA ZV Wungpam was present.
