Imphal, December 27: Out of 31 persons who sustained injuries in the December 16 bomb blast near Pourabi Lamjing Meira High School, eleven are still undergoing treatment in critical condition at JN Hospital, RIMS and Shija Hospital.

This is in addition to eight killed in the blast.

A statement issued by the JAC Against the Pourabi Huidrom Bomb Blast informed that of the injured victims undergoing treatment in RIMS, Konthoujam Michael's right leg is in a critical condition even after his left leg had been amputated at knee.

The JAC has also expressed its gratitude to the CO of 39 Assam Rifles, Col Bikramjit for extending financial help to the tune of Rs 55,000.Hit by splinters at legs, hands, back with a part of his left heel already severed, Okram Imobi (36) is also battling for life in hospital.

Mangjam Abung (20) is suffering from broken back bone and spinal cord.

With his two fingers already severed, Heikrujam Herojit (30) is also staring at possible amputation of his right leg.

Wahengbam Bembem (13) has been grievously injured with her left ankle fractured.

She also suffered from severe burn injuries all over her body.

Nambam Somen (21) suffered splinter injuries on the head.

Takhellembam Kennedy (24) had his flesh torn off from right toe to thigh.

He is also suffering from burn injuries in right hand and face.

Wahengbam Rebita (16) is undergoing treatment in a critical condition in JN Hospital with her right buttock severed off.

Wahengbam Babita (13) is suffering from a badly damaged right leg.

She suffered injuries in both her legs.

In addition to injuries in the back, both the legs of Ningombam Sanamacha Devi (20) have been fractured.

With the rear flesh of her right leg torn off, Brahmacharimayum Sobita (34) suffered from burn injuries on the whole right portion of her body.

She is also undergoing treatment in critical condition in Shija Hospital, conveyed the JAC release.

Stating that a huge amount of money had been spent on treatment of the injured victims, with more money required for further treatment, the JAC conveyed gratitude to all those who extended help for the victims.

In addition to Rs 55,000 donated by 39 AR Commandant Col Bikramjit, a total of Rs 79,551 has been given to pharmacies for medicines bought for the injured victims by MLA Lokeshore.

Further, Col Bikramjit has also assured service of two vehicles for 20 days for use by the family members of the injured victims and their relatives in going to hospitals, conveyed the release.

The Colonel also reportedly assured all possible assistance from his side in providing artificial limbs to those whose legs have been amputated and also while going to other States for treatment.

Col Bikramjit also decried the act of causing fatalities and casualties to civilians while targeting security forces by UG groups.

The JAC also extended their gratitude to MLA Lokeshore for his assistance to the JAC.

Saying that the JAC has been helping the injured victims by opening Help Line units in both RIMS and JN Hospital, it observed that a huge amount of money will be required further to treat the victims.

It also sought assistance from all the people in saving the lives of the injured victims.
