Imphal, December 24: Brushing aside voices of discontentment among the MLAs and Ministers of SPF Ministry who have even reportedly threatened to resign over denial of their quotas in the recent recruitment of graduate teachers under the Education (Schools) Department, Chief Minister O Ibobi has stated it is just like any other internal affairs of a family where everybody cannot be satisfied and should not be taken seriously.

Talking to mediapersons after releasing the wall calendar and diary of Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) for the year 2007, Ibobi said attempt made by some MLAs to lay their hands on the Education Minister and convening of a meeting of the SPF without the knowledge of the Chief Minister should not be taken seriously.

'It was just some internal problem of a family.

It is impossible to satisfy everyone in a family', he said.

The Chief Minister said that inauguration of the Bir Tikendrajit flyover has to wait for some more time as mastic flooring is yet to be completed.

The flyover was earlier scheduled to be inaugurated by the AICC president Sonia Gandhi during her proposed visit to Manipur ahead of the upcoming State Assembly election.

To a question on opinion of the State Government to talks doing the round that general secretary of NSCN (I-M) Th Muivah, currently at New Delhi, is likely to visit Manipur after his sojourn at Dimapur, the Chief Minister categorically stated that there is no such information that Muivah is coming to Manipur.

He also pointed out that ground rules of the ceasefire agreement between the Government of India and NSCN (I-M) which is undergoing peace talks clearly states that cadres of the Naga outfit should remain within their designated camps.

To another question on failure of the Government to declare results of numerous DPCs held, he asserted that 'it takes time for declaration of the results'.

Nevertheless, the Government has been declaring results of DPCs one after another.

The results of the recruitment of 5th and 6th IRBs would also be declared sooner than latter, the Chief Minister assured.

The Chief Minister also expressed confidence that all the villagers of Khengjoi who fled from their homesteads following the army operation to flush out underground elements might have returned to their respective villages.

Necessary instructions have also been given to the Chief Secretary and the Deputy Commissioner of Chandel district for despatching adequate ration and other essential commodities like blankets for the villagers, the Chief Minister, who is also in charge of Home said.

The State Government has also send a large quantity of ration and blankets for the people living in Khengjoi area on December 22 afternoon, he added.

A high level meeting presided by Chief Secretary yesterday had also decided to improve condition of road communication, provide adequate potable water and electricity in Khengjoi area.

Replying to a question raised from the side of the mediapersons on Bishnupriya issue, the Chief Minister said it is a delicate issue.

However, since the State Government approached the Supreme Court after a thorough discussion of the issue at political level there is certain advantage.

Still then, necessary measures are being taken for resolving the issue at the earliest possible in consultation with Assam Government, the Chief Minister said.

On the recent report of arrest of three Manipuri Muslim youths who are suspected to be members of the banned Islamic outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) at New Delhi, the Chief Minister informed that frequent communication is taking place between the State and New Delhi in this regard.

The State Government is deeply concerned about the possibility of Manipuri youths working as activists of (LeT) and the militant group trying to set up its based in the North East region.

To a question on border trade, the Chief Minister said after Union Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh visited to look into the infrastructural requirements necessary measures have already been taken up to do the needful.

After all these infrastructural requirements have been care of, the pace of border trade activities is likely to be stepped up with granting of the permission to do trade in any items, he hoped.

Replying to a question raised on the allegation that no quota for sportspersons have been allotted at the time of recruitment of SI/Jamadar, the Chief Minister clarified that it has been done so as the same have been given to women boxers Mary Kom and Sarita.
