Imphal, May 22:
Even as pharmacists of Lamphel have intensified their stir to protest the assault of their colleagues by IRB personnel on May 20, the Kuki Students' Organisation and the Kuki Mothers' Association today said that the main culprit is one Noren and demanded that he should tender an apology to Juliana Doungel, wife of DIG C Doungel.
Speaking to reporters at Kuki Inn today, leaders of KSO and KMA today said that Noren had nothing to do with the issue which broke out after a scooter rammed into the car carrying the police officer's wife.
From nowhere Noren barged in and grabbed the shirt of Juliana and tried to assault her, charged KSO and KMA.
If the truth of the matter is not established, then it could give a blow on the integrity of Manipur, they observed.
The KSO leaders said that no one has deemed it fit to focus on the attack launched by Noren on Juliana.
Why did Noren appear from nowhere and tried to assault Juliana countered the KSO leaders and demanded that he should personally come and apologise to Juliana and her husband C Doungel.
Recounting the genesis of the incident, KMA president Rose Mangshi said that Juliana was escorting a young girl to undergo CT Scan at Babina in a Santro car.
After the CT Scan the Santro car stopped in front of a pharmacy to buy medicines, said Mangshi and added that before Juliana could get out to buy the medicines a youth coming in a scooter rammed into the car.
The car was slightly damaged.
After the matter was resolved, Noren came out from a pharmacy and tried to assault Juliana by grabbing her shirt, said Mangshi.
Security personnel who arrived at the place on patrol duty then intervened and beat up Noren for trying to assault a woman.
Questioning under what motive, Noren intervened in the matter, Mangshi said that grabbing the shirt of a woman is an act of violence against all women folk.
