In connection with the by-elections to Khundrakpam and Khangabok Assembly Constituencies scheduled to be held on June 2, no representatives of other political parties with exception to the candidates concerned would be allowed to enter the jurisdiction of the two Constituencies just after the time stipulated for election campaign.
This was disclosed by Chief Election Officer (CEO) RR Rashmi while talking to mediapersons in connection with the upcoming by-elections at the office of DIPR here this evening.
He said with the exception of the candidates concerned, restrictions would be imposed on the entry of representatives of other political parties in the two Assembly Constituencies ahead of 48 hours of holding the election.
Security personnel would also be deployed to keep a close watch on the movement of the political workers.
Declaring as sensitive all the 60 polling stations of the two Assembly Constituencies where voting would be held to decide the fate of nine candidates, the CEO informed that one section of Central Paramilitary forces would be deployed in each of the polling stations.
Deployment of 2 to 3 section of Paramilitary forces would also be considered in hyper sensitive polling stations, he added.
While appealing to the voters to exercise their franchise without any fear, the CEO assured that necessary measures would be taken up by the Government to ensure smooth conduct of the by-election and see that all the political parties and their candidates respect the election model code of conduct.
He further appealed to the people to inform him if they come across any instance of violation of the election code.
The CEO also disclosed that DEO/RO concerned have been instructed to keep a vigil on the movement of the security personnel to check any participation in the election campaign.
Authorities concerned have also been directed not to use any police commandos on active duty in the two Assembly Constituencies on election day, the CEO said.
The CEO also informed that putting up flags and festoons in connection with the two by-elections on public properties, road sides and electric posts would not be allowed and movement of State security forces within 100 metres of all the polling stations would be restricted.
The timing for casting of votes will be from 7 am to 3 pm and election day would be declared a holiday.
In case of repolling, it would be conducted on June 4.The total number of voters in Khundrakpam A/C is 23,116 besides 42 service voters while in Khangabok A/C it is 29,110 and 32 service voters.
Computer teacher : The ADG Computer Centre has invited applications from Graduate/PG with diploma in Computer Science to be employed as computer teacher.
