Imphal, May 17:
RIMS doctors named in the controversial death of Sh Premila in the gynae ward of the hospital have been found not guilty.
Quoting enquiry report instituted against the case, Chief Minister O Ibobi asserted that there was no case of mistake or slackness on the part of the doctors who treated Premila.
Tabling the report in the State Assembly, the Chief Minister clarified that Premila died due to excessive bleeding after delivery.
The enquiry report was tabled in the Assembly session as MLA Dr I Ibohalbi asked for it in a sitting of the Assembly session earlier.
It may be recalled here that Premila died in RIMS on April 21 together with her new born baby just after delivery.
Answering to another call attention motion raised by O Joy and RK Anand concerning installation of an idol of Durga by Assam Rifles in a temple of Imoinu at Kwatha and the alleged restrictions imposed on the villagers of Sajik Tampak in their movement, Chief Minister O Ibobi who is also in charge of Home Department clarified that all these reports were not true.
Following threats by AR personnel that no unwanted person should be allowed to enter Kwatha in the name of Lai Haraoba, the villagers did not celebrate the Lai Haraoba of Sanarik Chaning Khombi and Nongpok Ningthou from 2004 to 2006, confessed the Chief Minister while categorically negating the report of AR personnel placing an idol of Durga at the temple of Imoinu.
He also refuted report of AR restricting movement of Sajik Tampak villagers.
Though Sajik Tampak was once controlled by UG groups, no UG cadres can operate in the area now after they were flushed out by Assam Rifles.
The false report concerning installation of an idol of Durga at the Imoinu temple seem to be instigated by UG groups with the motive to remove the AR personnel posted there.
Before Assam Rifles moved into Kwatha, the village was used a transit camp by some UG groups, Ibobi asserted.
Nevertheless, the State Government has intimated the AR authority that no idol of Durga should be installed at Imoinu temple nor should they restrict movement of Sajik Tampak villagers, he conveyed.
