Imphal, Jul 16:
The ugly face of the AR personnel was exposed to the media today when a team of Moreh based correspondents rushed to the site of today's incident to cover the story.
Particularly loathing was the conduct of Major Sati who led the troops today.
Even though the correspondents identified themselves and produced their ID cards, the Major threatened them to leave the place or else get beaten up.
"Get out or you will be beaten up," "Do you want your cameras to be smashed ?" "Where were you when our man was shot dead and why didn't you take the photo of the attackers, ?" were some of harsh and rude language the Army officer used against the correspondents.
To lodge their protest the Moreh correspondents held a meeting today evening and it decided to black out all news related item of 24 Assam Rifles and to boycott all their functions.
The protest will go on till the AR auhtoritiy gives a standing assurance that such incident will not recur.
