Imphal, January 09:
Even as NSCN (IM) general secretary Thuingaleng Muivah arrived at Dimapur today under heavy security, its rival, the NSCN (K) has claimed that about 2000 of its cadres have surrounded Camp Hebron and are ready to strike anytime.
Speaking to the media somewhere at its Zeliangrong region, a spokesman of the publicity and information cell of the NSCN (K), said that the cadres are ready to strike anytime at Hebron.
The spokesman said that despite the propaganda unleashed by the NSCN (IM) for the past many years, the Naga people today know that while the IM group is working only for Naga integration, the NSCN (K) is committed to the sovereignty of the Naga people.
The NSCN (K) has been against the anti-Naga policy of the NSCN (IM) for long and today the Naga people have realised that the K group is a true revolutionary organisation, working for the interest of the Naga people.
Asserting that the NSCN (K) has the full support of the Naga people, the spokesman said that it is because of the sustained help of the people, that the NSCN (K) is today able to oppose the policies of the NSCN (IM).
Since yesterday evening, three rounds of gun fights have been waged at Hebron, said the spokesman and added that presently over 2000 cadres of the outfit have surrounded Camp Hebron.
Three cadres of the NSCN (IM) were injured in the attack launched today morning at Hebron, claimed the spokesman and admitted that one K cadre was also injured.
Further five cadres of the rival group were injured in another gun fight in the evening.
The spokesman further said that the two leaders of the IM group, Isak Chisi Swu and Th Muivah have not arrived at Hebron as the NSCN (K) had earlier issued the ultimatum that the they will be assassinated if they step foot in Nagaland.
At the moment, Swu and Muivah are taking shelter at the Army camp at Rangapahar under heavy security, claimed the spokesman. This more than shows that Swu and Muivah do not have the interest of the Nagas at heart.
On the other hand they are just clamouring for political power, charged the spokesman.
The ultimatum of the NSCN (K) still stands and any visit by the two in the North East will be banned, he said.
