Imphal, Jul 04:
Unidentified masked men assaulted a 21 year old woman in the wee hours of today at Andro Chambra Leikai under Yairipok police station.
The incident took place at about 3.30 am today when the woman had gone out to relieve herself.
The masked men, numbering two first rendered her unconscious and then assaulted her.

Talking to reporters, the elder brother of Rebika, Suresh said that she was found unconscious by her mother in the morning near the verandah.
The victim was found blindfolded with a piece of black cloth.
Rebika was supposed to leave for Chandigarh today.
As per the story narrated by the woman to her family members, two masked men waylaid her while she was on the way back to her room near the verandah.
The attackers caught hold of her hair from behind and one of them clamped his hand over her mouth to prevent her from shouting for help.
She was then blindfolded and thereafter Rebika lost consciousness.
Rebika informed her family members that even while she was losing consciousness she could feel being thrashed with a rod.
Her shirt was also found partially torn.
A chit was also found on the piece cloth with she was blindfolded.
The chit was addressed to Suresh, the elder brother of Rebika.
The chit warned Suresh to stop working for another party and also not to try and find out the identities of the attackers.
Significantly, Suresh was the Chairperson of Andro Nagar Panchayat some time back.
Quoting the report of doctor, Suresh said there is no sign that Rebika was sexually molested and added that his sister has also taken a CT Scan at Imphal hospital.
Following the assault of Rebika a public meeting was held at the Andro hall of Meira Paibi Associations with the chief of Andro P Chandra presiding.
After discussing the matter, the meeting decided to appeal to all not to repeat such acts again, to form a JAC Against the Assault of Ch Rebika and establish the identities of the culprits and to report the matter to the police.
The All Andro Meira Paibi Association, All Andro Youth Club Association, Andro Awang and Chambra Leikai Youth Club, Eastern Schedule Caste Students' Union and the Councillor of the Ward have strongly condemned the assault of Rebika.
