Imphal, January 04:
Following the announcement made by Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh to demolish high-rise buildings that have come up in Khwairamband Bazar area in violation of the laid down rules and regulations, MAHUD has entrusted Imphal Municipal Council to conduct a survey of the high rise buildings and to submit a report of the same.
The survey is to be conducted over a period of one month along with the support of the police.
Conveying this to The Sangai Express, an official source said that an order has been issued by MAHUD Secretary PK Singh for conducting the survey by the IMC to find out whether the high-rise buildings in Khwairamband Bazar area had been constructed with the permission of the Government or not.
IMC would be conducting the survey along with the assistance of the police for over a period of one month.
During the course of the survey every household in the Bazar area would be visited to find out how the buildings which are more than three-storey are being utilised, whether for residential or commercial purpose, the official disclosed.
The proposed survey would also find out whether the permission of the Government had been sought before construction of the highrise buildings in the Bazar area, the official said, adding that necessary action would be taken up by the Government after receiving the report of the survey from the IMC.
