Medical check up conducted

The physical and medical check-up of around 350 cyclists who would be taking part in the mass cycle rally being organised by All Manipur Anti-Drug Association in connection with the observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was conducted at the complex of Indian Medical Association (IMA) at Lamphelpat today.
Out of around 400 aspiring candidates who had taken application forms for participation in the mass cycle rally scheduled to be taken out from June 20 to 26, 370 of them reportedly submitted their forms.
There are many people from Jiri, Moreh, Chandel and Churachandpur district among the applicants, convenor of the organising committee K Meghachandra said, adding that it is a rally which would be participated jointly by the hill and the valley people of Manipur.
The 350 cyclists who would be participating in the mass cycle rally would be accompanied by 200 volunteers, medical team and mediapersons.
Those who could not attend the medical check up today have been asked to come on June 10 at IMA complex at 10 am for the medical check up.
The results of the medical check up conducted today may be known from the head office of AMADA tomorrow, Meghachandra informed.
The orientation course of the cyclists who would be participating in the cycle rally would be held on June 10 at 10 am at Kangla.
The rules and regulations of AMADA to be followed would be mainly imparted to the participating cyclists during the orientation camp.
Meghachandra has appealed to all those who wish to participate in the rally to attend the orientation course without fail.
