Imphal, February 18 2009: The United National Liberation Front (UNLF), Manipur has strongly condemned the killing of SDO of Kasom Khullen Sub-Division, Dr Thingnam Kishan and two of his staff, Aribam Rajen and Yumnam Token, who were abducted from the Ukhrul DC office on February 13, and described it as illogical and bestial act.

The act which will be abhored by even the flesh-eating wild animals, nothing to say of among the humans, should be condemned by all sensible communities of the land, Ksh Yoiheiba, Senior Publicity Officer of Department of Publicity, UNLF stated in press release today.

It stated that it has been long since serial killings of persons from the valley who have been sent for posting and who had gone to earn daily livelihood in the hills had begun.

To cite a recent incident, an armed group based in the hills had shot dead five labourers and injured one from the valley who were working at Maphou dam on 26 November, 2008 .

Such cowardly and low down bestial acts are carried out with the plot of snapping the ties between the hills and the valley people by only a few egregious people who are the enemies of all the communities of Manipur, Yoiheiba asserted.

He further appealed to all sensible people of the hills and the valley not only to unitedly condemn such evil designs but also to stand against such acts and make a concerted effort to prevent recurrence of such incidents and build a united Manipur.

Yoiheiba further pointed out that such brutal murders are taking place because some people with lowly and narrow minds, besides having no justice system, were armed with lethal weapons.

Such politics of turning towards the brethren and biting them by some armed communal force, having been instigated by the IOF, will never be forgiven by the history, the UNLF's press release stated.

Pointing out that we should all remember that every action has an equal reaction, Yoiheiba affirmed that the fruits of every wrong policy will be had by those who commit the wrongs.

Such acts of cowardice will never be able to put down and frighten the human kind, Yoiheiba averred.

In another matter, Yoiheiba informed that Assistant Director of SAI, Takyel, Kh Olympic is in the custody of UNLF and being interrogated for having indulged in adultery with a woman who has a husband and children.

A .38 pistol has also been recovered from him, Yoiheiba informed and added that once investigation into the case is over, details would be announced to the public.
