Bomb blast near Minister's gate

Imphal, January 15: A hand grenade allegedly lobbed by unidentified persons exploded at the gate of the official residence of Art and Culture Minister Ph Parijat near Major Khul under City PS at around 5.30 pm today.

No one was injured in the explosion.

According to police, the hand grenade that exploded near the gate of Minister Parijat was Chinese-made.

Perpetrators of the crime have not yet been identified.

Police did not rule out the angle of monetary demand in connection with the attack.

Efforts to contact the Minister drew blank.
