PWD contractors have hailed Works Minister K Ranjit for his assurance to release due bills.
Speaking to reporters today, general secretary of PWD contractors' association Th Somorendro appealed to the Minister to increase the amount of bills to be released after Ningol Chakkouba.
On the information that Rs 175 crores will be released for works to be taken up under SPA, some contractors have started executing works without work orders, Somorendro said while appealing to the authority concerned not to make tenders for the contract works restricted.
Referring to the statement of the Works Minister that Rs 4 crores have been spent on procuring bitumen, the general secretary of the association asked as to where would the bitumen be spent when works under Non-Plan sector have been ceased.
