Nearly 200 families have been affected by the mudslide in Tamenglong district of Manipur.
This information came to light when MLA K Khangthuanang raised a question in the ongoing Manipur Legislative Assembly today.
According to the information, 168 odd families of Tupul area in Tamenglong district have been affected by the mudslide.
In addition to this, 116 hectares of paddy fields have also been affected by the slide.
As per information received, the mudslide was caused by the construction of the Jiribam-Tupul railway line.
However, the detailed reports will be available after the officials who are now being engaged in conducting the survey turn up after two weeks.
Number of houses including 23 pucca buildings have been damaged by the mudslide, according to the reports.
The mud is said to be still sliding down in bulk due to the construct of a tunnel in the Tupul area.
However, there has been no report of human casuality.
