Jiribam, August 24: Tension is running high between two communities in Barak circle of Jiribam after a man of a particular community attempted to molest a girl belonging to another community at Jakuradhor bazar in the evening of August 22, reports our Jiri correspondent.

While an FIR has been lodged at Jiribam PS today, jawans of 5 MR and police personnel have been put on high alert to avert any untoward incident.

Meanwhile, a press release issued by the Jiri Ima Meira Paibi Apunba Lup has strongly condemned the molest attempt on the young girl and intimidation of the victimised family by the accused.

The Meira Paibi Lup also accused the Officer in-charge of Jiribam PS of impartiality.
