Imphal, September 21: Asserting that the 51 Saitu Assembly Constituency is a reserved seat, the Thadou Students' Association, Sadar Hills District Committee has denounced introduction of Panchayat system within the Assembly constituency saying that it is gross violation of the hill people's right.

Urging the State Govt to withdraw Panchayat system from the area, the TSA pledged to protect the rights of people.

It alleged that the Koubru Laikha Panchayat which falls under 51 Saitu A/C is invalid and not recognised by the people.

Maintaining that the area cannot be revenue area, the students' body alleged that the four polling stations of Gram Panchayat under 51 (ST) A/C are directly under the District Council.
