Imphal, January 15:
Reacting to the reported announcement of an independent candidate for 42 Tengnoupal Assembly constituency through a local daily by UNC and ANSAM without consulting the civil organisation leaders of Maring tribe, the Maring Uparup Assembly (MUA), Maring Napuiya Yinglam (MNY) and Maring Students' Union (MSU) has denounced the announcement, conveyed a press release issued by MUA.
Moreover, the three Maring bodies have also resolved to refrain from any meeting convened by UNC or ANSAM until and unless the announcement of independent candidate for Tengnoupal A/C is clarified or rectified.
