Tonzang villagers endorse VAP

CCpur, October 08 2025: Tonzang villagers today unanimously adopted their Village Action Plan (VAP) during a Gram Sabha convened at the designated Adi Sewa Kendra.

The meeting was held under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs' flagship initiative, the Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan, marking the fourth Gram Sabha conducted in Singngat Sub-Division under the programme.

Village Authority vicechairman Kamminthang presided over the session and formally presented the VAP, outlining the community's critical infrastructure needs and articulating its collective aspirations.

The deliberations saw active participation from SDC Rex Lengen, Block Master Trainers, Adi Sathis, Adi Sahiyogis, and officials from key line departments, who engaged with villagers and responded to queries raised during the proceedings.

Speaking on the sideline, Rex Lengen lauded the village leadership and residents for their proactive engagement and thoughtful preparation of the plan.

Tonzang is one of four villages in Singngat Block that was selected as a pilot site under the Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan.

With today's endorsement, the VAP will be submitted to the District Nodal Office for review and onward transmission to the relevant agencies for further consideration.
