As in previous years, United Committee Manipur (UCM) would be organising the IXth The Great June Uprising Day, 2010 at Kekrupat Memorial complex, where the mortal remains of 18 martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of territorial integrity of the State have been laid to rest, on June 18, 2001 .
In this connection a central committee meeting of UCM was convened at its Lamphel head office today.
To ensure grand success of the observance, the IXth The Great June Uprising Day Observation Committee with UCM president Yumnamcha Dilipkumar as chairman, UCM vice president Yumnam Naba as vice chairman and UCM secretary general W Second as convenor have been appointed unanimously, according to a statement issued by information and public relations secretary of UCM Kh Nilamani Kh-Nganba.
Moreover, preparation for setting up 13 sub-committees have also been started.
As for mobilising the sub-committee, secretary organisation of UCM JK Mangang has been appointed as the convenor and assistant secretary organisation RK Bino as the co-convenor.
AMKIL, ACOMLUP, CHITUWA, CLK, Development Samaj, IPSA, Kanglamei, Kangleichal, Mapi Council, Macha Leima, NIPCO, TammiChingmee and UPF have members in the sub-committee.
For the transport sub-committee, RK Mangisana and S Jiban have been appointed as convenor and co-convenor respectively.
For publicity sub-committee, Kh Nilamani Kha-Nganba and N Jiban have been appointed as the convenor and co-convenor respectively.
Other appointments include Ng Deva for programme sub-committee, Th Dhanabir for field & stage, Areng Zatak Chiru for presidium member, Kh Anandi for Martyrs's sub-committee, E Chanu Manileima for reception sub-committee, L Chanu Binakumari for invitation sub-committee, Arkit Wangkhem for water, medical &emergency crisis, M Rasewori for district affairs and L Nganbi for emergency services.
UCM has appealed to the people for full participation in the observance and show their commitment to cause of territorial integrity of Manipur.
