Sadar Hills only after district re-organisation says N Biren

Imphal, September 27 2011:
Spokesperson of the SPF government, N Biren, who is also the IFCD Minister has made it clear that Sadar Hills cannot be converted in to a full fledged district until and unless district re-organisation is done.
Speaking to media persons at the sidelines of his inspection visit of the distribution of petrols and diesels in the pumps of Imphal city, he said that among the 197 villages which are registered under the Sadar hills area, a number of the said villages, due to its uninhabited nature, have been cancelled by the government.
As a result there is need for district re-organisation.
He further went on to say that for administrative convenience the need for more than 15 districts in the state has arisen.
The state government recognizes the problems faced by the populace of Kasom Khullen of Ukhrul district and Henglep of Churachandpur district in trying to reach the district head quarters.
There is definitely a need to create more districts in the state.
All these problems have arisen because of the misdeeds of the previous governments.

Replying to a query from media persons, Minister Biren said that the government is not sitting idle and silently observing the economic blockade.
It has called all the leaders for a meeting and is in the process of arriving to a solution.
The only thing that concerns the government in using force is the possibility of casualties among the innocent women and children in the act.
N Biren in his inspection of the petrol pumps interacted with customers waiting in the queue.
Reacting to complaints of police personnel and other influential persons jumping the queue and taking petrol, the minister came down strongly against such acts of insensitivity.
He declared that such acts will not be allowed.
He further stated that there are dedicated petrol pumps for police personnel and other government staff and they should not barge in when the public has to stand for hours to get petrol.
