Imphal, March 26 2009: The CPI with its four ally RSP, AIFB, CPI(M) and Janata Dal (Secular) today has chalked out strategy for winning CPI candidate, Dr M Nara in the elections to the Inner Lok Sabha seat from Manipur.

The manifesto release function of the CPI which was held today at GM Hall, Imphal also attended by leaders of ally like the chairman of the Forward Block K Bimol, K Manoranjan of RSP, Ch Choaba of JD (S) and Sharat Salam of CPI(M) apart from CPI Central general secretary, AB Bardhan and state health and family welfare minister, Ph Parijat.

Meanwhile, the visiting AB Bardhan has reiterated that his party is committed to hold political dialogue with the insurgent outfits operating to bring normalcy in the state while launching the website of the CPI candidates, Nara today at Imphal Hotel.

Speaking at the manifesto releasing function, AB Bardhan informed the gathering that some political parties supporting the UPA government like Samajwadi Party of Mulayam Sing Yadav, RJD of Bihar, AIDMK and JDU etc.

are likely to be part of the third front (Left and Democratic Front) withdrawing their support to the Congress led UPA government at the Centre.

Later, this evening, AB Bardhan also while launching the website of Nara said "The question of bringing normalcy in Manipur needs political dialogue with all insurgent groups".

Bardhan who will leave Imphal tomorrow concluding his visit in the state here said, "My party is also committed to that".

After he lost to Dr T Meinya of Congress in last election, Dr Nara is contesting for the second time for inner Manipur parliamentary seat.

The CPI leader have interaction session with the media persons at the end of his two day election campaign at Hotel Imphal conference hall in presence of state party leaders this late evening.

The CPI leader reacting to the recent killing of three state officials-Dr Th Kishan and two subordinates by NSCN-IM cadres and the ongoing ceasefire agreement between NSCN-IM and government of India, said, "No one knows, what kind of peace talk is on and what the negotiation is all about".

Bardhan also expressed strong disagreement with government's no action to the killing of the SDO Kasom Khullen Dr Kishan and his two co-staffs at a place in Senapati district last month.

Manipur has been threatened on its territorial integrity as NSCN-IM has been demanding creation of a greater Nagaland by integrating Naga areas in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur, he observed.

He said CPI want Armed Forces Special Powers Act to be scrapped.

"Jeevan Reddy Commission report should be implemented" he said.

Jeevan Reddy Commission was constituted in 2004 to conduct an enquiry into the imposition of AFSPA in NE region.

"In the course of the last five years, I've discussed the issue with Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh and even Shivraj Patil to repeal the act, as this act is Counter productive", he narrated.

Responding to a question on supporting a non-BJP and non-Congress party candidate in the Outer-Manipur parliamentary seat, he said, "We are considering it".

Bardhan is expecting at least three Lok Sabha seats from Manipur and Assam over and above Tripura seats in the forthcoming election.

Presently out of 61 Left seats, CPI has 10 seats in the Lok Sabha.

Bardhan has also formally launched a website for left party candidate Dr Moirangthem Nara's website(www.mnarasingh.co.cc) in a simple gathering at Hotel Imphal on Thursday night.
