Lamka, August 24: In a bid to turn this tiny township more responsible and hygienic, Siamsinpawlpi Lamka Block today launched an initiative called 'Operation Green Lamka'.

Launching the operation today, the student organization doled out more than hundred dustbins, painted in green to the shops along Tedim Road and at New Bazar, its busiest market.

The operation flagged-off by special contractor Ginsuanhau also includes campaign and counselling on the need to maintain clean and friendly environment.

With the initiative it has made, the student organization has vowed to further widen its campaign once the road construction within the township is completed.
