Students protest plan to shift Bal Bhavan

Imphal, May 23: Students of the Bal Bhavan, Imphal which is the second best Bal Bhavan in all the States and Union Territories should be shifted to a place where there is adequate infrastructure due to a Bal Bhavan, in case it has to be shifted from the existing location.

Moreover, the new location should be within zero mile of Imphal town, insisted students of Bal Bhavan.

Till date, 12 students of the Bal Bhavan, Imphal have been awarded National awards.

The students maintained that they cannot accept the plan of the Government to shift the exiting Bal Bhavan from Khuman Lampak Sports Complex before construction of the new Bal Bhavan with all its necessary infrastructure is completed.

They also decried the indifferent attitude of the Government towards welfare of the children.

The attempts of the Bal Bhavan students to submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister has not been successful since the last few days.

Efforts to secure appointment with the Chief Minister proves futile.
