Imphal, November 20: Troops 57 Mountain Division and local police apprehended an active cadre of DHD (Jewel) group during a joint operation along Dihangi-Gunjang road at around noon yesterday.

The arrested cadre identified as Soinen Thousen alias Gerante Dimasa was riding a motor cycle along with one 9 mm pistol, ammunition and incriminating documents when he was apprehended, according to a statement issued by PIB Defence Wing.

On preliminary investigation, the arrested cadre revealed the names of the members of DHD (Jewel) group who were involved in the ambush on the convoy of Commandant of 50 Bn CRPF on November 2, the statement said, adding that further investigation is on and it is likely to result in obtaining important information about the group.
