D coy of 28 Assam Rifles organised a spot painting competition for the students of Madrassa Alia located at Lilong bazar today.
OC D Coy 28 AR, Maj Vishal Singh Sanga and Zilla Parishad Member, Md Faisal Maroebi attended the inaugural function as president and chief guest respectively.
The painting competition was held in two categories for Class I to V on the theme "Our hills of Manipur are barren.
Let us plant trees and make them green," and from Class VI to IX on the theme "School is my second home.
I love going to school".
Md Shajid of Class IX won the first position in category "A".
The second and the third positions were bagged by Md Amir of Class VIII and Imran Khan, also of Class VIII.
Ashkar Ali had to be contented with the consolation prize.
In category "B", Abdul Hassan of Class I bagged the first position, Ashiq Ilahi of Class I won the second and Abdul Wahid of Class II got the third position.
Md Mishad Ahmed got the consolation prize.
The chief guest and the president distributed cash prizes later.
The competition is aimed at channelising the youth energy constructively and imprint upon the young minds that they are playing an active role in creating a wave of change in the society and the world at large, stated Major Vishal Singh Sanga.
