Manipur Forward Youth Front (MAFYF) has provided relief materials like rice and blankets to the people of Dingpi area in Chandel district who have been caught in the cross-firing between the UGs and the Indian army.
The relief distribution function was held at Manipur Press Club here today.
Talking to mediapersons at the occasion, a spokesperson of MAFYF said that the Indian army has been using its power in the name of maintaining law and order and asked the people to fight against such injustice.
The spokesperson said MAFYF has been supplying various relief materials to the affected people of Dingpi area for one month now and called upon other people to come forward and show their generosity towards the people who are still stuck in their remote villages.
Chairman of Dingpi Peace and Development Committee Ngamkhojam Guite who was also present at the occasion, informed that many villagers have led to various safer places like Sugnu, Moreh, Imphal, etc.
He also appealed to all the authorities concerned to look after the needs of the displaced villagers.
Narrating the problems and difficulties being faced by the villagers of Dingpi area in the wake of the Army operation to flush out militants, chief of Changjan village Ngamlet Baite said that the villagers were often called out by the army and they could not go out and work in their field in peace.
