Meghalaya CM recalls his life as RIMS student

Imphal, March 12 2011:
Meghalaya Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma, who arrived today in Imphal, opened the 2nd edition of ARIMSA Meet-2011 at RIMS jubilee hall, Imphal.
He was student of the RIMS, Imphal and arrived here to join the meet organized by the Association of RIMS Alumni (ARIMSA).
Dr Mukul Sangma graced the opening function as chief guest which was presided by Dr Sekharjit, director of RIMS.
JNIMS director Dr Mutum Shyamo attended as guest of honour.
He was happy when he got the chance of attending such a function and meeting with former students of the institute, particularly his former colleagues, Dr Mukul Sangma said, speaking as chief guest of the function.
The meet has given a chance for exchanging experience between the present students and former students of the institute, he added.
Getting invitation and being part of the meet has recalled him his life as a student of the institute, he said recalling that Imphal was like an open place when he was here.
The place is totally changed now, he added.
The RIMS campus is like a jail, he said recalling that there was no such fencing when he was a student.
Turning towards the students of the RIMS, Meghalaya CM advised them to be honest in serving the people as a doctor.
"Almighty has given you a special task to save life of the people," he said to the future doctors.
He further expressed hopes that RIMS will continue to shine and will produce good doctors.
The CM later released a souvenir of the meet.
