Imphal, September 01 2009: Even though authority of the state government had announced that medical check up of people entering the state is being done , the same were found not taken up physically so far Moreh bordering with Myanmar and Mao gate bordering with Nagaland stating that no doctor are there.

On the other hand, a personnel of the 30 Assam Rifles posting at Churachandpur who tested for Human Influenza (H1N1) after he was brought up for treatment at 183th Military Hospital on suspect of Swine Flu infection found negative.

The blood sample collected from the patient that was sent to Centre for Disease Control, New Delhi by the state health service authority was turned out negative result, officials said today.

A source from the state health department said that the authority has already started checking persons arriving from other state at Imphal Airport and entering to the state on NH-53 at Jiribam as a part of measures to check spreading of Swine Flu in the state.

But, the measures are yet to taken up at Mao gate to check people entering the state through NH-39 and from Myanmar side at the international border gates at Moreh due to having no doctors to conduct the medical check up, the source further said.

For the Mao gate the checking of people will start from coming Thursday (September 3), the official said adding that arrangement for the same has started.

The source also maintained that compare to the situation in the other states of the country, Swine Flu situation in Manipur is not at the serious situation.

For the north eastern region, nine people have been reported suffering from H1N1.Out of them two from Mizoram and one from Manipur had died of the disease.

Manipur situation is better than that of Assam and Mizoram, the official observed.

So far blood sample of four persons of the state have been tested for the infection of the dreaded disease.

But only one turned out with positive results.

No further suspect turn up for testing.

The latest case was that of AR personnel named Sushilkumar Negi (32) son of Ramsingh from Himachal Pradesh.

He was admitted to the Army Hospital with the complaint of fever, headache and frequent vomiting on August 28 last at around 5.30 pm.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the officials of the state health services has decided to meet again on September 4 at Moreh.

The meeting likely to find a strategy on how to combat outbreak of the disease, the source said.
