Kohima, August 29:
Nagaland police stationed at Khuzama check gate today arrested a Manipuri woman for possession of a Chinese made 7.65 mm pistol.
Police said that the accused identified one Kumari Devi (56), from Imphal East district had concealed the pistol in her waist loin.
She was traveling in a bus from Imphal to Dimpaur with other Burma made goods.
However, on suspicion woman police searched her and recovered the pistol.
Later, the accused on being investigated revealed that two unknown persons had threatened to deliver the pistol at Jakhalabandha in Assam but did not know who was the recipient or where to be delivered.
A case has been registered and investigation is on to nab the king pin involved in such dealings as during the last five days the Khuzama police have seized four pistols and arrested at least five persons from the same check post.
