Dimapur, Jul 24:
The NSCN-IM has issued a clarified regarding reports filed by one of the leading news agencies pertaining to the cease fire extension.
Kraibo Chawang, deputy kilonser, MIP of the NSCN-IM informed NNN last evening that what he actually told to the AFP reporter had been misinterpreted and said that he did not made a statement which threatened to end the 9 year old ceasefire with India.
Clarifying his statement Kraibo Chawang said whether to extend ceasefire or not would only be decided during the July 28-29 talks in Bangkok.
"I have told the AFP reporter that there is serious problem on missing arms seized from the NSCN," clarified the NSCN-IM leader.
Chawang explained that the question of threatening to end cease fire does not arise as there is a "separate committee of the outfit to tackle ground rules".
The reports which appeared in today's newspapers have been filed by IANS news agency but the NSCN-IM MIP deputy Kilonser claimed that it was a reporter from AFP to whom he had made the statement yesterday.
