Imphal, April 22: Besides alleging violation of norms and clandestine move of the State to facilitate construction of Capitol Project, Centre for Organisational Research and Education (Core) has accused the Govt of undertaking the project without the consent of Lei-ingkhol residents.

Such conduct violates mandatory legal procedural norms of development standard, decried the Centre while reiterating its demand that State authorities withdraw the project until clearance on environmental impact/management plan is obtained.

It also contended that Manipur Pollution Control Board is not the competent agency to prepare such a report.

CORE further extended its solidarity to the JAC Against Eviction of Lei-ingkhol and prevailed upon the Govt that in a democratic system of governance wishes of its subjects should be accorded respect rather than going ahead with the plan to please certain vested interest parties.
