Ukhrul, September 21: With the deadline served to the state government lapsing today the Tangkhul Katamnao Shaklong (TKS) enforced it proposed agitation by staging sit-in-protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner's ffice gate.

During interaction with The Sangai Express Ino PR Jordan, president TKS said inspite of fervent appeals made through representative and numerous memorandaa handed to the state government the proposal failed to evoke positive respeonse till date.

The SPF government led by O Ibobi and its lackadaisical attitude to grievances of the District reflects step-motherly treatment meted out to the people, the student body alleged.

The TKS charter of demands comprise immediate posting of gynaecologist, surgeon, physician, ENT surgeon, Dist.

TB Officer, radiologist, ophthalmologist, sufficient staff in administrative block, immediate installation of X-Ray machine, blood Bank in the medical department, Regular power supply, installation of additional 3.15 MVA, early completion of 3.15 MVA sub-station at Namrei, revamping minor irrigation office at the earliest, decentralize Tribal development funds and opening of State Bank of India branch in the District.
