Two social organisations today set deadline on February 28 to close down all the restaurants with dark cabins, obscene pictures and rooms with no ventilation, etc.
which provide rooms of illicit activities.
The Ningol Khongchat Lup and the Kangleipal Loinashillon Apunba Marup (KLAM) have set the deadline at a press conference held today at the office of the Epak Film, Keishampat Leimajam Leikai.
The two social organisations also laid down some of the norms to be followed in running a restaurant and said that a room of the restaurant should have at least five windows or should have adequate lights so that each and every person in the room can see each other.
Small double seat chairs should not be used.
Explicit posture which would arouse should not be displayed at the wall of the rooms but they can display posture of natural beauties which would get relaxation.
While putting the norms, the two organisations observed the origin of crime against women witnessing in the state from mobile phones and dark cabins in the restaurants.
They will also start campaign against wrong use of mobile phones.
Members of KLAM observed that even though the body of writers tries to expose impact of bad behaviours of the youths in the society, none aware of the things and take seriously on the matter.
In such situation, the organisation decided to extend cooperation to Ningol Khongchat Lup.
If any of the restaurants found violating the norms put down by the two bodies after the deadlines set by them, stunt action will be taken up against the proprietors of the restaurants, they warned.
President of Ningol Khonchat Lup, Sagolsem Taruni Leima, KLAM president, Keithellakpam Sanahongba, PRO coordinator Rakesh Naorem and Moirangthem Babita who will lead the drive participated in the press conference.
