UDYAM registration drive conducted at Phungyar village

The District Industry Centre (DIC), Ukhrul & Kamjong, organised a one-day registration drive on UDYAM at Phungyar village Community Hall for block villages of Phungyar, Kamjong district.
The drive was formally launched by SDO Phungyar Block, Nimmi Azingwungshi Khamrang, in the presence of Phungyar village headman, CBI Branch launches the drive in the presence of Phungyar village headman, CBI Branch Varechon, and Thotrinchan Siro, president of the Students' Organization.

Nimmi explained that UDYAM.
derived from the Sanskrit word for "business" or "enterprise," is a government initiative to promote and support startup entrepreneurs.
DIC General Manager, Ukhrul, Themreiyo T Awungshi stated that the UDYAM registration drive was first introduced in Kamjong district beginning at Phungyar block and would subsequently cover all blocks of the district.
The programme is held under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme, a central initiative of the Ministry of MSME supported by the World Bank.
Highlighting its significance, Awungshi said that registered individuals would receive a recognition certificate and a unique number, enabling them to avail benefits under various government schemes.
During the programme, Varechon as resource person emphasized the importance of banking under credit-linked schemes such as bank loans, necessary for establishing and growing enterprises in rural areas.
Meanwhile, the SDO distributed 10 UDYAM certificates on the spot.
Over 80 individuals from different villages under Phungyar block were successfully registered during the drive.
