Science exhibition for children kicks off

Imphal, December 15 2010: The state level science exhibition for children organized by the Department of Education (S) under the theme Science and Technology for Challenge in Life was kicked off today at Bengali High School, Babupara, Imphal.

In a speech, Education Minister, L Jayentakumar said that an amount of Rs 10 lacs have been sanctioned under the Inspire Scheme of Ministry of Human Resource Development.

Selected students will be provided an assistance of Rs 5,000 approximately for the studying and doing research works in the field of science and techonology.

Professor H Nabakumar, Vice Chancellor Manipur University also attended the inaugural function.

Around 75 science models from different districts of the state will be displayed during the exhibition.
