MPP Condemns harassing scribes

Imphal, October 12, 2009: MPP strongly condemned the incident of police commandos harassing two reporters with threaten to shoot at, a statement of the party signed by its general secretary (media) Y Mangi said.

Considering media as fourth pillar of democracy.

It is unfortunate thing to harass media persons discharging duty day and night and serving the people.

MPP appealed the government to take up appropriate action to those erring police personnel so as not to repeat the incident in future.

MPP took that such incident is cause by government not controlling the police department.

So, government should look into the matter at the earliest, the party demanded.
