Post-transplantation festival of Kuki-Chin group of people, Buonsilthak Kut was celebrated with traditional fervour and fanfare at Bunglon village, which is located under Moirang Police Station of Bishnupur district on June 5 last.
According to a delayed statement issued by publicity secretary of Bunglon Loumi Pawl (BLP), Bunglon farmers' association, the celebrated was graced by Longphai village Chief S Soipi as chief guest and secy of Khousabung village Mangkham Gangte as guests of honour.
The much-awaited festivity of thanks giving to the Almighty for his blessings and enabling the farmers to accomplish their seed sowing/plantation of paddy was organised under the aegis of Bunglon Loumi Pawl.
Apart from offering oblation to the Almighty for a bumper harvest, the celebration was marked by cultural items like presentation of Chawnglaizawn dance and Suktalam (bamboo dance) by artistes of Bunglon Youth Club.
The fiesta also witnessed demonstration of indigenous games and sports items likes Puonhuol Khet, Mawlh Kizuk, Sehte, Khau Kizuk among others.
As the modern day celebration of the festival is marked fusion of tradition and modernity, budding artistes like Romeo Seipu of Hinkho Thahfame belted out heart-rending and melodious numbers to enthral the jam-packed audience.
The festival came to an end as the Kutters tasted the feast of love.
