Imphal, March 31: One HRS Medicos located at Uripok Kombirei Keithel, Imphal was made to compensate a customer for charging the customer additional amount on certain drugs through fraud.

According to a press release issued by the Consumers' Club, Manipur, one L Brojen Roy of Khurai Lairikyengbam Leikai bought drugs worth Rs 1769.36 from the drug store on January 14 and 17.But the drug store by manipulating the prescription of the doctor gave drugs worth Rs 4621.85 thereby robbing the customer of additional Rs 2852.49.Under the initiative of the Consumers' Club, an understanding was brought about between the pharmacist and the customer.

The pharmacist not only agreed to refund the additional amount he charged from the customer but also to compensate the customer with Rs 4000.Taking serious note of such fraudulence, the Consumers' Club cautioned all the customers to be vigilant while purchasing drugs and to be careful of the pharmacy agents loitering around in hospital premises.
