Cheque distributed to Ukhrul schools

Ukhrul, August 30: A programme on disbursement of cheque to the Eco-Club member schools of Ukhrul district was held at the chamber of SDC Rita Leiyaphy today.

The programme was sponsored by MOEF, New Delhi and organized by Manipur Pollution Control Board (MPCB) in collaboration with District Implementation and Monitoring Committee (DIMC) for national Green Corps (NGC).

Principal scientific officer of MPCB, Dr M Gonchandra Sharma handed over 150 numbers cheques of Rs 2500 each cheque to SDC during the function for the continuous programme of National Green Corps of Manipur.

The SDC in turn hand over the same to the member secretary of DIMC for disbursement to the listed 150 Eco-Club Member schools of the district for the year 2007-2008 as grants of activities relating to environment awareness.

In today's function, Sampui Primary school, Kamjong, Challou Primary School and New Tusom High school got the cheques while the remaining can collect from the Member secretary DIMC.
