Truth about Ningombam victim revealed

Imphal, August 29: The youth who was shot dead by a combined force of Imphal West Commandos and 32 Assam Rifles at Ningombam Makha Leikai under Singjamei Police Station at around 9.30 pm yesterday had been allegedly picked up by AR personnel from near Kiyamgei Heibong Makhong High School.

The slain youth has been identified as Narokpam Bijen alias Khagemba (28) s/o late Surchandra of Kiyamgei Khoirom Leikai.

Bijen reportedly joined PLA in 2000, but has been staying at home for the last 6 months due to health reason.

He had gone out of home by driving a Kinetic Honda (MN-1M/8573) to buy medicine on the night of August 27 at around 6.20.But he was picked up by personnel of 32nd Assam Rifles at around 7.30 pm.

After post-mortem at RIMS mortuary, his body has been handed over to his family members today.
